1st Grade

First grade is a rigorous academic schedule.  Our goal is to master all of the state mandated math skills, as well as have our students progress from beginning reading levels 1 and 2 to somewhere between 16 and 18.  Handwriting is taught to help achieve readability in the many creative and journal writing activities.  Social studies and science are taught on a thematic basis.  Character Education is used to reinforce good citizenship and proper school behavior.
